Calhoun County Court Calendars Explained
Calhoun County does not publish one countywide calendar covering every court date. Instead, each court handles its own. The public Third Circuit District Attorney calendar carries Circuit term and event information for the district. It is handy for spotting a Calhoun Term, Plea and Motion activity, Grand Jury labels, and similar categories. Case-level Circuit and Chancery settings live on the MEC docket after login. Justice Court and municipal matters stay with the issuing clerk. They do not appear on the Circuit calendar.
Treat the public calendar as one layer of event and term information. It is not a complete list of every case called in Calhoun County. The court and clerk still hold authority. A citation, summons, order, or earlier docket entry is the best starting point. It names the venue that must confirm any date.
Calhoun County Court Calendar Term
The Third Circuit public calendar gives an open view of district events. Its August 2026 calendar listed a Calhoun Term running August 3 through August 14, 2026. The displayed time was 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. That entry covered the term only, not case-by-case settings. No case number, case style, party, attorney, courtroom, or judge appeared for individual Calhoun matters.
A term label can orient you without telling you whether a particular case will be called on every day inside that term. A case-level docket or a confirmation from the clerk answers that question. The calendar cannot.
Plea and Motion is a category, not an outcome. It tells you nothing about how a case ends. Grand Jury is a public event label too. It does not make grand-jury materials public. Every label like these needs the context of the court record and the law governing access.
Finding Your Court Date
Confirm a Calhoun County court date through every channel available, especially when an old notice and the public calendar disagree. Circuit and Chancery parties can log in to the authenticated MEC or PAMEC docket for the latest setting. The public Third Circuit calendar supports a term or event check. It also offers a Print View. For lower-court or municipal matters, call the issuing clerk. Calhoun Justice Court and the county's municipal courts offer no official public web case-search form.
- Read the citation, notice, summons, order, or earlier docket entry for the court and date printed on it.
- Identify the venue: Circuit, Chancery, Justice Court, or the municipal court that issued the matter.
- For a Circuit or Chancery case, use the applicable MEC or PAMEC account to inspect the most recent case-level docket entry.
- Use the Third Circuit calendar to check a Calhoun Term or event category, then print the view if a paper reference is useful.
- Call or visit the clerk that holds the case and ask for the current setting, courtroom or location, and whether any change is recorded.
- For an older or missing electronic record, send a focused request to the correct clerk with the court, case number, party, and approximate date.
Calhoun Circuit publishes 662-412-3101, Chancery publishes 662-412-3117, and Justice Court publishes 662-412-3134. Calhoun City publishes 662-628-8345. For any other municipal case, call the issuing city's clerk.
Calhoun County Court Calendar Views
The Third Circuit calendar offers Grid and List presentation, Month, Week, and Day views, Month and Year navigation, event categories, and a Print View. Previous, Today, and Next controls let you move between dates. Category options include General and All Categories. These tools narrow the event layer by time and category. The calendar offers no public case-number or party-name search.
| Control | What it helps locate | What it does not confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Month, Week, Day | Events in a chosen calendar view. | Whether a named case is set at a particular time. |
| Month and Year navigation | Past or future displayed calendar periods. | Reset history for a case. |
| Event category | Term or event group, including observed General and All Categories views. | Case style, party, attorney, courtroom, or judge details. |
| Print View | A printed reference to the displayed calendar view. | A current clerk-confirmed individual setting. |
Think of the calendar as a map to an event, nothing more. A docket sheet, a notice of setting, or a clerk's response still beats what the display shows.
How to Read a Court Setting
A court setting is simply a scheduled court event. It might be an arraignment, a plea and motion setting, a hearing, a trial, or a docket call. It might also be a term event. The public Third Circuit calendar confirms only the term or category layer. A case-level MEC docket can show more when the record is accessible. The exact fields vary by Calhoun case. For the current setting, the latest notice or order is the practical source.
| Date | The scheduled calendar date. Confirm it against the newest docket entry or clerk response if a reset is possible. |
|---|---|
| Time | The time shown for the particular case or event. A term-level calendar time is not necessarily a personal appearance time. |
| Court or venue | The filing court that controls the setting: Circuit, Chancery, Justice, or the issuing municipal court. |
| Setting type | An arraignment, hearing, plea and motion event, trial, docket call, term, or other scheduled action. |
| Current status | The newest notice, continuance, reset, order, or replacement setting in the chronological case register. |
Calhoun Court Calendar and Case Record
The public calendar and the docket do different jobs. A calendar can show that a Calhoun Term or Plea and Motion event is scheduled. The docket is different. It is the running register of filings, orders, notices, hearings, and later changes. A calendar term covers a date range. It does not prove every county case gets called each day in that range. Nor can it replace a certified court record.
PAMEC serves Circuit or Chancery cases. It is the paid remote route to non-restricted docket sheets and documents. Registration is required, with a $10 annual fee plus a $0.20 per-result-page charge. Clerk offices offer free electronic viewing during regular hours. A docket sheet may be open while an attachment stays restricted. Contact the clerk for the court record itself.
For the court split and the authenticated docket path, see the related Calhoun County case lookup information. Whatever the route, the court maintaining the case must confirm the date.
Continuances, Resets, and Cancellations
A continuance or reset simply moves a court setting. The setting lands in a new slot on the court's schedule. The Third Circuit calendar, though public, lists date ranges and events only. It will not show a case's reset history. For a Calhoun County case, the register has to be read in order. A Notice of Setting may come first. A Continuance, Reset, Order, or fresh notice may follow later in the file. In practice, the newest operative setting controls the date that counts.
- Notice of setting
- A case-level notice identifying a hearing, trial, or other court event.
- Continuance or reset
- A moved setting. The current date must be identified from the latest operative entry, not the first listed date.
- Calhoun Term
- A scheduled period of Circuit business. It is not proof that a particular case will be heard each day.
- Trial Pending
- An observed MEC flag that trial activity remains pending. It is not itself a hearing date.
Calhoun County publishes no standing reset order, and no local coordinator policy, remote-link rule, or weather and holiday closure procedure is posted. Old calendar displays go stale fast. Confirm the current details with the clerk or the court administrator.
Calhoun County Circuit Court Dates
Calhoun County Circuit Court belongs to the Third Circuit Court District. The district also covers Benton, Chickasaw, Lafayette, Marshall, Tippah, and Union Counties. The district's three Circuit judges appear in the current official directory. That bench serves several counties at once. So a district-wide calendar may reflect shared geography. It may not be a Calhoun-only schedule. Manage case-specific settings through the docket, the court, or the clerk holding the matter. The Third Circuit Court Information page lists the Calhoun location. It also covers MEC status and the district court context.
The Chancery Court Information page shows the other district route. It has a Calendar.pl endpoint. That endpoint needs a session, though, so treat it as nothing more than an internal path rather than an anonymous Chancery date search.
If You Miss a Court Setting
Missed a Calhoun County setting? Call the issuing court or clerk right away. Ask the docket for a failure-to-appear entry. Also ask about any bench-warrant or capias-related process, a new setting, or another order. The answer depends on the court and the case type. No public calendar, printed notice, or third-party calendar can verify the current result of a missed appearance.
Act promptly: A missed setting can lead to a failure-to-appear entry, a bench-warrant or capias-related process, or a new court date. Call the clerk that maintains the case and consult counsel about the case-specific response before appearing.
Circuit cases belong to the Circuit Clerk. Chancery cases belong to the Chancery Clerk. Justice and municipal cases stay with the issuing lower court unless an appeal has moved them. Calhoun County has no single published response procedure for a missed setting, so call the right office and confirm directly.
Calhoun County Court Date Confirmation
Calhoun County Circuit Court and Chancery Court both run on MEC. Their go-live date was March 20, 2023. Justice Court and municipal court records follow separate routes. Whenever a court-date question comes up, give the clerk the details. Name the court. Give the case or citation number, the party name, and the date on the last paper served. Then ask what the current setting is. It might be an arraignment, a plea and motion event, a term, a hearing, a trial, or a reset. Request the courtroom or location too, if that detail matters. The Eighteenth Chancery Court Information page lays out the Calhoun MEC route. It also gives the wider court system context.
Older paper files and certified records also come from the clerk. A visit or mailed request should target one exact court record, nothing vague. The clerk posts no fee schedule for Calhoun copy, certification, search, and mailing services. Get a current quote before paying.
Keep the most recent court paper handy when seeking a Calhoun County date confirmation. It carries the case number and court name.
